Lupus Canada is thrilled to introduce you to an inspiring story of resilience, determination, and hope.

Meet Elliot Saucier, a 27-year-old from Saguenay, Québec, currently living in Montreal, who has embarked on an extraordinary journey to raise awareness and funds for lupus research.

After his mother was diagnosed with lupus in 2021, Elliot witnessed her courageous battle against the disease, including a prolonged hospitalization and a challenging recovery that included the amputation of her right foot due to a severe infection. Moved by his mother’s strength and driven by a desire to make a difference, Elliot took on a remarkable challenge in 2022, cycling the full circuit of Tour du Lac Saint-Jean (234 km) in just two days, raising $3000 for lupus research. But Elliot didn’t stop there.

This year, after 10 months of rigorous training and completing several marathon events, he is ready to push his limits even further. Elliot will be running the same 234 km circuit in five days (September 1 – 5, 2024), demonstrating not only his physical endurance but also his unwavering commitment to supporting those affected by lupus.

Join us in cheering for Elliot as he takes on this incredible challenge!
