Benoit Ferland

Director

Benoit has been a firefighter for 18 years. He is currently completing a master’s degree in organizational management in public safety at UQTR, after earning a certificate in emergency management from Polytechnique Montréal and a certificate in organizational leadership from HEC Montréal.

His commitment to the lupus cause was inspired by his best friend who lives with the disease. This motivated him to join the Lupus Canada Board, where he works to make lupus more visible. His mission is to raise awareness of the disease, actively support the research team led by Drs. Boilard and Fortin at the CHU de Québec—two leading experts in the field—and to work on translating and providing French-language resources for Quebecers.

Benoit also collaborates with provincial ambassadors, clinics, and physicians to support various initiatives aimed at increasing lupus awareness. His goal is to make lupus as well-known as breast cancer and other major diseases.

Every small initiative counts, every small donation counts, and every act of involvement helps grow the community and those who support the cause. One action can lead to a newspaper article, which results in a radio interview, followed by a video, and so on, creating a continuous chain of awareness.
